The event organised by American University of Kosovo (AUK) in partnership with Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) was supported by CHwB Kosovo office with contribution of our head of office Sali Shoshi in the panel discussion covering the subject "Cultural heritage: Prishtina’s historical center" – a panel debate focusing on the contemporary approaches to zoning, protection and promotion of city historical core. Additionally, our team member Dukagjin Bakija presented our engagement practices, namely the presentation "Community engagement practices in cultural heritage" focusing its story on the immense relevance that community consultation plays to our work in heritage.
The symposium hosted speakers and moderators for talks and panel discussions working in fields of Urban and Spatial Planning, Design, Architecture, Art, Law and Politics. The aim of the symposium was to share ideas and case studies on successful models of community design and urban planning in North America and Europe and to discuss spatial planning and urban development issues in Prishtina and other municipalities in Kosovo as they relate to the built environment, energy efficiency and sustainable design.
