The project “In pursuit of Flavor” has started its implementation

The project “In pursuit of Flavor" has started within the project "Regional development of the west economic region through cultural heritage", which comes as a joint activity of CHwB Kosovo and 6 municipalities (Deçan/Decane, Gjakova/Đakovica, Istog/Istok, Junik, Klinë/Klina, Peja/Peć).

The project aims to identify and document the food tradition of the Dukagjini region and adapt it into contemporary dishes.

This will enable the villages and the towns of this region, according to the identified micro zones, to shape a distinct gastronomic character in order to increase the offers and values for the visitor.

The Accursed Mountains and the plains of Dukagjini, create a contrast that is reflected in the food traditions of the residents of this area. The richness of food of the region is also enhanced by the numerous mountain rivers which are branched into water streams, a rarity elsewhere.

The research is led by Jeton Jagxhiu - project leader and interviewer, Fejsal Demiraj - gastronomy researcher and sous chef at Noma Restaurant in Denmark, Somer Spat photographer and Musa Bushrani - content writer.

The project is funded by the Government of Sweden through SIDA.
