“City in miniature” / 3D printed book / Fitore Rexhepi & Nëntore Rexhepi

Jul 30 - 2020

“City in miniature” is the title of the 3D printed book for visually impared, which contains 15 heritage objects/sites 3D printed and their descriptions in Brail, and twenty relief maps. This project is realized by Fitore Rexhepi and Nentore Rexhepi, part of the fourth edition of Heritage Space.

“One of the past projects we supported enabled access to cultural heritage for the visually impaired and bilnd by creating interactive 3D models of around fifteen cultural heritage sites of Prizren. Equal access to cultural heritage for all members of the society is considered a basic human right. Creating means for the visually impaired in Kosovo to interact with cultural heritage is an important way to raise general awareness that members of the society with certain disabilities should and must be able to take part in social and cultural life equally.” – Nora Weller, one of the Heritage Space fifth edition mentors, mentions the importance of equal access on heritage.

This project has been realized as part of the #HeritageSpace platform which is implemented by CHwB Kosovo. This activity is part of the “Inter-Community Dialogue through inclusive Cultural Heritage Preservation” project implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP Kosovo) and financed by the European Union Kosovo Instrument for Peace and Stability (IcSP / EU) and the Swedish Government.
