Advanced Digital Heritage Documentation
This program promotes the use of advanced, particularly digital, technologies to strengthen cultural heritage documentation. It focuses on improving the accuracy, accessibility, and long-term preservation of heritage data while building the capacities of professionals and institutions working in the field.
A key component of the program is the establishment of an educational programme that supports practitioners in using digital technologies for heritage documentation. Through a combination of theoretical learning and hands-on training, participants gain practical skills in tools such as 3D laser scanning, drone-based photogrammetry, and high-resolution digital recording. This approach contributes to the standardization and modernization of documentation practices across institutions.
In parallel, the program implements educational activities in cultural heritage preservation, adaptive reuse, and interpretation. These programmes promote interdisciplinary learning by combining technological skills with a strong understanding of conservation principles and
sustainable heritage management. Participants are encouraged to use digital tools not only for documentation, but also to enhance the interpretation and public presentation of heritage sites.
The program also establishes an internal unit within CHwB Kosovo dedicated to data collection and analysis. This unit serves as a central hub for managing digital documentation, ensuring data quality, consistency, and long-term storage. It supports evidence-based decision-making by providing analysis and insights derived from collected data, strengthening institutional planning and heritage management processes.
Overall, the program creates a sustainable framework for integrating advanced technologies into cultural heritage practices, enhancing professional expertise and reinforcing institutional resilience.
