About Heritage Space Platform

Heritage Space was initiated in 2016 by CHwB Kosovo with the aim to encourage artists, researchers and other professionals in the field of culture, creative industry, and digital humanities to preserve cultural heritage through research and documentation, and by creating works that present new aspects of heritage that intersect with contemporary perspectives.

Heritage Space encourages interdisciplinary approaches to cultural heritage such as written research, contemporary art, film-making, digital storytelling, documentation and other relevant approaches that are capable of engaging with the general public meaningfully through education and awareness raising. Therefore, Heritage Space encourages communities to engage with the historical past and cultural heritage beyond traditional means.

CHwB Kosovo has designed a platform which connects cultural heritage with different social practices using innovative approaches, deliberately moving away from the well known concept of the Authorised Heritage Discourse. In doing so, we provide a platform to creative individuals who will work with local communities and members of the society, thus bringing to the forefront local histories that have shaped the identities of Kosovo’s multicultural society.
