Doruntina Ukimeri

Architect
Doruntina Ukimeri is an architect, graduated from the Polytechnic University of Tirana, and a professional with extensive experience in project management across architecture, cultural heritage, tourism development, and the creative industries. She leads initiatives that focus on culture, cultural heritage, and local economic development through community-based and collaborative projects.

Her collaboration with CHwB Kosova began in 2011, and since 2024 she has been leading and managing the organization’s project, “Miredita Junik.” Throughout her career, she has coordinated programs implemented in partnership with local institutions and international organizations, with a particular focus on sustainable tourism development, valorization of cultural heritage, and strengthening the creative sector.

She has significant experience managing and implementing EU-funded projects, especially within Cross-Border Cooperation (CBC) programs involving Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Albania, contributing to initiatives that foster regional collaboration and the joint development of cultural and tourism potential.

In addition to her professional practice, she has been engaged in research and development initiatives in cooperation with organizations such as CHwB Kosova, contributing to analyses and projects aimed at the protection, interpretation, and sustainable use of cultural heritage. She was also a fellow of the Hope Fellowship Program in Washington, DC, and a graduate of the School of Politics, further strengthening her engagement in public leadership, civic dialogue, and policy-oriented initiatives.

Her work bridges architecture, culture, and the creative industries, promoting innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to cultural projects and the activation of local cultural and economic potential.
