Merita graduated in 2008 from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Prishtina. She has over 15 years of professional experience and, during this time, has been involved in a large number of projects as an architect, researcher, manager, and supervisor, with a particular focus on the field of cultural heritage.
She has been engaged with the organisation CHwB Kosova since 2004, when she was still a student. Since then, the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, as well as historical values, have been among the main priorities of her professional work.
In 2024, she obtained an A1 category license in the field of cultural heritage.
For many years, she has been engaged as an architect and supervisor in more than 30 completed projects for the conservation and adaptive reuse of cultural heritage assets, including UNDP projects funded by the European Union. She has also been involved as a researcher and co-author of the book series “Lost Cities.”
Previously, she was part of the project team for the project “Conservation and Development of the Archaeological Site in Dresnik,” which included the digital documentation of the site, the design of visitor infrastructure, and conservation interventions.
Currently, she is engaged in the development of the project “Conservation Plan for the Archaeological Site of Ulpiana–Iustiniana Secunda” (2026–2027), which includes the organization of workshops, the preparation of the architectural program, and the development of the implementation project.
