The third edition of the KAH DRITA Festival officially begins tomorrow, 4 July, in the unique cultural landscape of Junik, bringing together music, heritage, nature, and community through a diverse programme of events. This year’s festival is dedicated to the theme of transhumance, celebrating the centuries-old seasonal movement of shepherds and livestock, and highlighting its cultural significance and living traditions.
The festival will open at 18:00 with the inauguration of the Panoramic Balcony in Gjoçaj, followed by the official opening ceremony of KAH DRITA III.
The evening will continue with performances by Dukagjin Muhaxheri Quartet and the Peppa Marriti Band, an Arbëresh ensemble from Italy, celebrating the cultural ties that connect communities across borders through music.
On 7 July, participants will take part in a one-day journey to the Krasniqi family mountain hut in the Junik Highlands, where they will experience transhumance traditions firsthand and explore the rich cultural landscape of the area.
Through concerts, cultural experiences, and community gatherings, KAH DRITA III celebrates the living heritage of Junik and invites visitors to discover the stories, traditions, and landscapes that continue to shape this remarkable region.
