Since this year’s theme was transhumance, we decided to take part of the festival to a place where this tradition is still alive. We set off from Prishtina towards the Gjeravica Mountains, where we were welcomed by the family of Islam Krasniqi, who have been living in their summer mountain pasture since the beginning of summer.
During the visit, the “Deçani” Ensemble of Songs and Dances presented a performance featuring traditional songs and dances, while the Krasniqi family prepared a traditional lunch for us.
A big thank you to the Krasniqi family for their warm hospitality, and to everyone who joined us on this journey.
The festival is part of the “Mirëdita Junik” project, supported by the European Union through the Albania–Kosovo Cross-Border Cooperation Programme and implemented in partnership by CHwB Kosovo, the Municipality of Junik, the Municipality of Mirditë, and UET Center.
