Cultural Heritage without Borders (CHwB) is an international organization that uses cultural heritage as a driving force for reconciliation, peacebuilding, and sustainable development. Founded in 1995 in response to the destruction of cultural monuments during the wars in the former Yugoslavia, CHwB works to protect, restore, and promote cultural heritage in communities affected by conflict, disaster, or neglect.
By collaborating with civil society and institutions, CHwB strengthens democratic development, supports human rights, and builds long-term local capacity. With over two decades of experience across the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, CHwB brings deep expertise in safeguarding heritage and fostering positive societal change in challenging environments. The publication is only availaible in English.
