Main Project Objectives

  • Document and promote the culinary traditions of the Dukagjini region as part of its intangible cultural heritage.
  • Strengthen cultural identity by showcasing traditional recipes, food preparation methods, and local agricultural practices.
  • Engage local communities in the process of heritage preservation, ensuring intergenerational transmission of knowledge.

Main Project Outcomes

  • Research conducted on the culinary traditions of the Dukagjini region, across six municipalities.
  • Publication of the book “Shijet e Dukagjinit”, documenting  food preparation techniques, local agricultural practices and traditional recipes.
  • Oral histories collected from local communities, preserving authentic narratives on food heritage.
  • Increased awareness of gastronomy as a driver for tourism and sustainable economic development.
